Can Sunriver support 400 more Condos?
We are posting this question just to get feedback from the Sunriver Community. Can Sunriver support 400 more Condos, both real estate wise and vacation rental wise?
I thought the developer stated that he would need 600 condos to make this project viable (not 400). When people voiced their concern, he said, "Do you want the Mall redeveloped or not?"
Unless I am mistaken about the vacancy rates, we don't need more high density residential in Sunriver. It would be a mistake to approve this project. It is clearly and understandably profit driven on Silverstar's part. Don't be fooled.
As the currently submitted Town Center zoning application is stated it would allow for a combination of 600 condominium residences and 100 hotel rooms. As Sunriver rentals have continued to drop every year since 2004 not only will the rental market not support it, the actual housing market will also be adversely effected.
